Hebrews - "The Complete Work of Christ"
The book of Hebrews challenges us to examine our relationship with God, asking whether we have a "consumer" or a "covenant" relationship with Him. A covenant relationship, as described in Hebrews, is one where God initiates and binds Himself to humanity, pledging His enduring commitment. This is in stark contrast to a consumer relationship, where we might approach God only when we need something, treating our faith like a transactional relationship.
This covenant relationship is characterized by God's desire to dwell with us, to be our God, and for us to be His people. It's not about what we can get from God, but about where God writes His laws on our hearts and minds.
In contrast to a consumer mindset, a covenant relationship with God calls for faithfulness, commitment, and a recognition of God's sovereignty. It's not based on what we can gain, but on God's unchanging character and His desire for a lasting relationship with us.
